Emily Lacey was founded in 1999 after my mom purchased the most darling dresses for my newborn daughter Emily in Paris. We fell in love with the classic style and amazing craftsmanship and became close friends with the owner of the store. I began importing the dresses to make extra money while pursuing my MBA at Georgetown University. Starting with booths on the Junior League circuit the brand grew into a thriving wholesale and private label business. When our French friend retired and closed her Parisian boutique, we took over the manufacturing which is done in a beautiful, airy home in Madagascar. "Les filles" are like family now and we are now working with two generations of the most talented designers, seamstresses and embroiderers. We even have a lemur who pays visits to the atelier on occasion!
Boutiques from Paris to Palm Beach have carried the line and it has been featured in the press like Town & Country, Vogue Bambini, The New York Times Style Section and on NBC. Following the recession, we refocused on direct sales and have continued to innovate and grow. One thing that hasn't changed is our creation of the most exquisite, unfailingly intricate smocked apparel that can be found in the market today. Now that the times have changed, we are ready to bring the collection back to select boutiques.
This year we have added a darling line that is Made in the USA. From sweet seersucker to classic corduroy, we add custom and authentic Liberty of London fabric trims for a unique look. They are ideal for monogramming, which is a huge draw for our customers.
Welcome to our shop and join us as we continue to expand our offering of the finest in children's apparel.
